Biography Legato Choir
The Legato Choir started in 1957. Legato is a mixed choir with 45 enthusiastic members in the ages 27 to 87. Since February 2019, the choir has a new musical leader in Matilda Skön.
The Legato choir holds a broad musical variety and a mixed repertoire including most genres such as jazz, pop, gospel, folk music and a bit of opera as well.
The Legato Choir has performed together with both well known and unknown Swedish artists during the years. Every year, since 35 years, Legato gives Christmas concerts under its own brand “Jul Över Stan”. We also normally give a concert every spring and late summer. Since a couple of years, the choir has formed its concerts with a theme and is becoming more and more of a scenic choir. We sing everything by heart.
Legato normally goes on a trip every other year, visiting different European cities, to explore and giving concerts. In 2016 we went to the Choir festival in Bornholm, which we enjoyed very much. In August 2019, we attended the European Choir Games – not compete, but give friendship concerts.
